Harrison, Gilberthorpe (1895-1971)

GILBERTHORPE HARRISON: born in 1895 in Swinton, Yorkshire, and entered the Primitive Methodist Ministry in 1923. He was trained at Hartley College and seryed as a probationer minister in Wymondham and Northampton II. He subsequently ministered in Liverpool II, Douglas, Birkenhead South, Liverpool (Grove Street) and Wallasey (twice). From 1952 until his retirement in 1962 he was Chairman of the Liverpool District. At his own request there is no obituary other than this record of service. He died on 21st September, 1971 in the seventy-sixth year of his age and the forty-ninth of his ministry.

Family

Gilberthorpe was born in 1895 at Swinton, Yorkshire, to parents Thomas, a greengrocer and general dealer (1901), and Jemima. He was baptised on 29 March 1899 at Swinton, nr Rotherham, Yorkshire.

He married Evelyn Lindley in the spring of 1927 at Swinton, Yorkshire.

Gilberthorpe died on 21 September 1971 at Heswall, Cheshire.
