Huck, William (1886-1975)

Family

William was born on 18 March 1886 at Appleby, Westmorland, to parents Benson, a railway signalman (1901), and Ann. He was baptised on 29 March 1886 at Brough, Westmorland. 

The 1901 census return records William as a cowman. In 1911 he is described as a Primitive Methodist Student.

William emigrated to USA in 1913. Census returns identify the following occupations.

• 1920 dairyman
• 1930 Presbyterian minister
• 1940 insurance agent

He married Mary Jane Donnelly (1887-1975) on 16 February 1915 at Alba, Michigan. Mary was born in Ireland. Census returns identify two children.

• Terence William (b1918) – a transportation clerk (1940)
• Kathleen (b 1923)

William died on 9 January 1975 at Atlanta, Georgia.
