Wilding, Sarah Ann (nee Speed) (1848-1913)
Transcription of obituary published in the Primitive Methodist Magazine by F.W.H.
A Primitive Methodist of the third generation passed from us on December 28th, 1913, when Mrs. S. Wilding breathed her last. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Speed, were devoted members of Welsh Row Church, Nantwich, and there, at the age of eighteen, she began a membership which lasted forty-seven years. For a time after her marriage to Mr. S. Wilding her home was at Chesterton, but thirty-four years ago they removed to Cannock, since when they have been associated with our Church there.
She was ever to the fore in service, greatly assisting her husband in his work at the Boatmen’s Hall, and her home was always a preachers’ home. The last years of her life were clouded by great sorrow, but through it all there was joyous submission to the will of the Father. After six months of illness, the end came. The interment took place on New Year’s Day.
