Woodward, Ann (nee Guyatt) (1848-1912)

Transcription of obituary published in the Primitive Methodist Magazine by T.C.R.

The beloved wife of Mr. F. Woodward passed to her eternal home on Nov. 1st, 1912, at Henwick, near Newbury, aged sixty-four years. The deceased was cradled in Primitive Methodism, being the eldest daughter of George Guyatt, a highly respected local preacher in the Newbury circuit. Her mother dying early in life, the deceased had the care of her brothers and sisters, over whom she watched with loving solicitude, and subsequently her own sons and daughters were blessed with her maternal care until she entered the city of God.

Domestic duties prevented her taking any active part in Church work, but she was always interested in her children attending Sunday School, and the Church services, and many of them have joined us in Church membership. She was a Church member with us for fifty years.

The funeral, conducted by Rev T.C. Rigg, was largely attended, and bore testimony to the high esteem in which our sister was held by all who knew her.
