Worsnop, Hannah (nee Kidd) (1841-1916)
Transcription of obituary published in the Primitive Methodist Magazine
On Thursday, May 11th, there passed away peacefully Hannah, widow of the late Rev. John Worsnop, at her residence, Newcastle-on-Tyne, in her seventy-fifth year. She was born at West Allendale, and while at Cockfield she became the wife of Mr. Worsnop in 1869.
In all the circuits in which they travelled she commended herself by her genuine piety and Christian influence. Never seeking, but rather shunning publicity, the silent influence of her character and service will be cherished in loving memory. Owing to poor health, Mr. Worsnop superannuated and settled down in Newcastle-on-Tyne, where he passed away in 1904. Here Mrs. Worsnop spent the intervening years of her life, and attended Kingsley Terrace Church, Newcastle Second Circuit.
During the last year she felt her weakness increasing, and could not get out much. She was reverently laid to rest in her husband’s grave, the service being conducted by Rev. W.D. Cox. She leaves an only son.
