Worth, Jane Amelia (nee Smith) (1841-1872)

A transcription of the obituary published in the Primitive Methodist Magazine by John George Smith, her brother, is attached. He records that before marriage Jane ran a small school for girls. She was also active in the Sunday School.

Family

Jane was born on 26 March 1841 at Norwich, Norfolk, to parents John Smith, a PM minister, and Jane Rogers.

She married Henry Worth (1836-1915), a PM minister, in November 1867 at Great Yarmouth, Norfolk. Census returns identify two children.

• Jane Amelia Smith (1868-1958)
• Henry John George Rogers (1870-1949) – a secondary school teacher (1911)

Jane died on 30 April 1872 at Cambridge, Cambridgeshire.
