Scarlett, Joseph (1884-1948)

Family

Joseph was born on 4 November 1884 at Hull, Yorkshire, to parents John H Scarlett, a rullyman (1891), and Mary.

Before entering the ministry Jospeh trained as a  joiner (1901). The 1911 census return records him as a Primitive Methodist Minister at Mile End Old Town, London.

Joseph was chair of West Bromwich Board of Guardians 1927-9 (1933 Who’s Who of Methodism).

He married Lillie Wilson (1979-1962) in the summer of 1907 at Hoyland Common, Yorkshire.

Joseph died on 7 August 1948 at Hull, Yorkshire.
