Smith, George Knowles (1870-1951)

George was President of the New Zealand Conference in 1912

Family

George was born in 1870 at Filey, Yorkshire, to parents John George Smith, a PM minister, and  Margaret Elizabeth Knowles.

He married Ada Jane Wigley (b1870) in the summer of 1898 in the Rochdale Registration District, Lancashire. Census returns identify one child.

• Henry Knowles (1900-1973) – a bank manager (1942)             

George died in the autumn (NZ) of 1951 at Greytown, Wellington, New Zealand.
