Webb, Percy Rapson (1879-1943)

Transcription of obituary published in the Minutes of Conference

PERCY RAPSON WEBB: born at London in 1879. He was brought up and confirmed in the Anglican Church, but became associated with the Primitive Methodist Church in Tottenham, where, under the guidance of the Rev. W.H. Wright, he became a candidate for the Ministry. After training at Hartley College, he entered the Ministry in 1910.

His ministry revealed a man of gracious personality. A diligent student of the Bible, a wide but careful reader, always on the lookout for anything that would make his message intelligible and attractive to his hearers. He was a faithful and sympathetic pastor to his people. A kindly, generous and peaceable man, respected and beloved by his brethren, alike in the Anglican and Nonconformist Churches.

A true man of God leaving a record of devoted, helpful and successful service to the Church of his choice, he passed to his reward on March 17, 1943, in the sixty-fourth year of his age and the thirty-third of his ministry.
