Family

Robert was born abt1837 at Stanhope, Weardale, Co. Durham, to parents Joseph, a lead ore miner (1851), and Deborah. He was baptised on 26 February 1837 at St John’s Chapel, Weardale.

Before entering the ministry Robert was a lead ore miner (1851).

He married Martha Brown Scott (1845-1913) on 28 September 1870 at Dundee, Angus, Scotland.

Robert died on 11 July 1891 at Kenmore, Perthshire.
