Wray, Hewson (1838-1919)


Hewson was born abt1838 at Tetney, Louth, Lincolnshire, to parents Edward, a groundkeeper (1841), and Mary. He was baptised on 15 July 1838 at Tetney.

After leaving the ministry Hewson worked as a tailor. In 1901 he is recorded as a draper, grocer and sub-postmaster at Hargrave, Thingoe, Suffolk.

He married Ann Phillips (1842-1916) in the summer of 1867 in the Thingoe Registration District, Suffolk. Census returns and birth records identify two children.

  • Herbert William (1869-1893) – a grocer (1891)

Hewson died on 9 February 1919 at Hargrave, nr. Bury St Edmunds Registration District, Suffolk.
