Benneworth, John (1852-1900)

Family

John was born in 1852 at East Bergholt, Suffolk, to parents Josiah, an inn keeper (1861), and Hephzibah.

Before entering the ministry John worked as an iron and brass founder.

He married Sarah Wood Willis (abt1857-1929) in the summer of 1881 at Tewkesbury, Goucestershire. Census returns identify three children.

• John Willis (1883-1941) – a clothier (1901); later a Methodist Minister (1908)
• Edith Nellie (1887-1924) – an assistant embroideries (1911)
• Arthur (b1892)

John died on 4 July 1900 at Jarrow, Co. Durham.
