Briggs, Eliza (nee Atkin) (1840-1909)
Transcription of obituary published in the Primitive Methodist Magazine by J. Wilson
Eliza Briggs was born at Binbrook, in the Market Rasen Station, about 70 years ago, and continued in the same village throughout her life. Many years ago she became deeply impressed concerning spiritual religion, and was born of the Spirit. United in marriage with Mr. John Briggs, a useful local preacher and trustee of our Binbrook Chapel, she, with some self-sacrifice, greatly helped him in his labours for the spiritual and material welfare of the Church.
Their home was ever open to the superintendent minister, and only those who have travelled the long journey from Market Rasen to Binbrook can appreciate the useful service she rendered by providing food and shelter for the night. She has gone to her reward.
